We’re gonna have to dig this up. I’m working on the website and pulling up entire archives of everything we have, getting them cataloged and listed on this website is our big challenge. The website’s getting a face-lift and being re-organized. Please check back soon.

Adjudicated 2 years ago, finished treatment and off probation, my son is required to register by state of Washington. Now graduated and trying to move in to school, the roadblocks are significant. I am grateful people are standing up in behalf of these modern-day lepers.

Here is a suggestion that may increase your clout among lawmakers via chambers of commerce.

Do not feed the dog that bites you.

The US economy depends on us buying their products. The taxes from this pay the salaries of the people who persecute you.

    Shift to non-US products.

The following are examples, not endorsements:

    – Do not buy Microsoft, Apple, HP, Dell or other American computer products.
    – Buy Asus (Taiwan), Toshiba, Sony (Japan), Samsung (Korea).
    – Use free Linux based, many applications, like word processing, video editing, like Knoppix operating system.
    – Mobile or smart phone or ipad buy Samsung (Korea), or SonyErikson (Japan-Sweden).
    – TV screens: Samsung or LG (Korea), or Sony (Japan).

    – Coffee: Instead of Starbucks, Peets, or Maxwell House coffee, buy Lavazza (Italian) or Illy (Italian)
    – Buy imported wine, cheese, jam.
    – Buy Maggie (Swiss)

Go to Asian specialty stores to find products from Asia.
Find Latin American products at Latino specialty stores:
Buy Tecate, Modelo, Dos Equis and other good Mexican beers
    Buy cortijo Mexican country cheese.

    – Cars: Instead of Ford or GM or Chrysler, Fiat (Italy), others.
    – Tires – Hankook, Kumho (South Korea), Yokohama (Japan), Pirelli (Italy), others.

Shoes: you can find many non-American shoe brands.

    – Air travel – KLM (Dutch), Air China, Eva (China), Korean (Korea), Asiana (Japan) many others.
    – Do not book with US hotel agencies, like Trivago.

If you are not sure about the origin of a product, check the website or wiki.

Some of the other countries may be just as much witch hunt countries but we can still make them compete with each other for our dollars.

It does not matter if you use American products if you already have them or if someone else owns them, as long as you do not give them new money.

If you agree, pass the word.

You’ve got to be kidding me… everything is made “overseas”! Even if 800,000 people stopped buying something it wouldn’t be a dent in corporate cash flow! Most of us RSO’s have had to stop buying most everything! The system has made us less than POOR!!!!!

I have thought of the boycott idea many times. But, with much speculation, and some research: I seriously doubt its effectiveness.
I don’t deny it might be worth a try, anything is better than nothing.
I have tried to boycott all the businesses here in Stillwater, OK that have rejected my apps for employment because of my charges. Screw them, if I’m not good enough to work for them, then I am certainly not going to spend what little money I have to support their bank balance.

Wonderful information that each psychologist, family, police officer, and mainly prosecutor and judged should know. they should be in fact be oblied to know before any decision. They are, in fact destroying thousands of lives. What people don’t dofor money? This country is not different from some others. Equally barbaric.

I’m questioning whether to comment. This site seems to have been abandoned. Which in itself reflection some lack of dedication to the issue. I, too, am affected by ill-thought out laws and restrictions. I’m retired, but barely survive because I can’t find an affordable place to live outside the zoned areas. Nor am I able to find, even a part time job to supplement my fixed income.
I have to visit as many food pantries/banks and other services as possible just to eat. I currently am staying with someone rent-free. He even spent a lot to feed me and never complains. I feel really bad taking advantage of the situation, but have NO choice. The food services helps a lot, but many things still have to be purchased.
I want to help with this Website to publish and push for change to this archaic laws.

this site is neither abandon nor is it neglected it is daily checked for comments and we attempt to get new articles onto the front page as often as possible being an entirely volunteer organization sometimes that is not as often as we would like we have been in the fight since 2007 and will continue to do so until the registry is abandoned by the government many of the people on our secure forms have been in the fight since the inception of the registry.

I hate myself for being a sex offender. I had thoughts of suicide or just running away, but then the County DA pushed a law that put my children at risk. I saved my son’s life twice because I was there to do so. In Orange County Ca. they passed laws to kick me out of parks and beaches. Children (possibly my child) are known to get hurt in parks and beaches what was I to do? Sometimes I’m afraid and think maybe I don’t matter..well perhaps it is true I don’t matter but my son because he is my son they seem to think he doesn’t matter as well. Little Daniel my dear son loves swimming he even saved a 4 year old boy’s life from drowning at the age of 12. So he does matter doesn’t he? I look and listen for a voice of reason and hope in the night but when looking at the world around me all I see is harm and pain. Did I cause some of it? I did, but there is redemption out there somewhere even for me right? isn’t there? Just needing a little bit of that right now…

I made one mistake in my 47 years of life during an extremely stressful point. All research points to how our minds don’t “think ” properly during those times. I slept with a 17 yr old. I have a beautiful 17 yr old daughter who I love very much. If not for her I would not be here because of the public shaming and negative reinforcement that registering does to ones self identity. I am one of the nicest people you could ever meet, anyone who finds out about what happened tells me that the “state is messed up”. No one cared that I was being sexually harassed by this person, or even that I was being stalked by the man who is now my ex husband at the time of such events. Only that my “Victim” was not quite eighteen. Don’t get the wrong idea that I think what I did was OK, I don’t. But it wasn’t premeditated, it just happened. We can’t run, where would we go? If you take your life who will be here to fight for you? or your child? I was blessed to find an employer who understood my situation and saw through the title I’ve been branded with. But I still have days when I do nothing but cry, And not just for me, but for people like you. So please remember there are people who care about you and your loved ones even if we have never met. I cry now because I understand your pain and pray one day we can find a way to fix this breech in our legal system. By hating yourself you create sickness, disease, and cancer in your mind, and body. We are our thoughts, actions, feelings, etc. You made a mistake, you paid for it. And unless your still doing bad things then you need to forgive yourself. I know it’s a hard thing to do but you need to do it. You are not a bad person, your just one person who made a bad decision, The difference between you and most of society, other then the brand you now wear is the fact you got caught making a mistake. Hang in there Robert.

Hi. I know this is a bit late but better late than never (as they say). Anyhow, I want to say to you and even though I don’t know you…that you DO matter. And most importantly, you matter to little Daniel! I know being on the registry and dealing with your past is tough, trust me (I’m watching my brother go through it and he can’t even live with his daughter). But Daniel is watching you and you can teach him what not to do and how to be strong. You can either let this “make” you or “break” you. Your purpose is not to please anyone else, not to care what the world things of you… your purpose is to be there to watch and protect Daniel. To be an inspiration to him and to show him that you can overcome this. The laws will change…I know they will. There are a lot of people out there (that you may not see or know) who are working on changing the laws. But until then, don’t let this situation break you—get the help you need if not for you for Daniel. Be strong.

I’m wondering what is actively being done to change the laws/restrictions, either on the local level or on state or national level.
We can comment here from now to eternity and not accomplish a thing, if we don’t actively pursue changes within out individual legislatures.
Does anyone one have well-written form letters that can be downloaded and reprinted to mail to senators and representatives…even governors or the president.
Currently Oklahoma has a candidate running for governor that wants to toughen the SO laws even more.

What about the victim’s of sex offenders?

      October 28, 2018 at 9:11 pm

The sex offender was punished. In many cases the victims will never be satisfied. That is why we have a justice system (though flawed). A justice system is for punishing the guilty, not satisfying the victims. The victims can choose to not let themselves STAY a victim. But because of the unconstitutional laws surrounding sex offenders, there is no redemption. People do bad things, but that don’t mean they can’t learn from those actions and change for the better. Also, many victims are family of the offender. If allowed, the offender and victim may be able to patch things up and move on. However the laws do not allow this. Families are forever damaged because they are never allowed to heal.
